Martnan introduces: The Local Food Street!

This year you can taste locally produced foods from Norwegian growers and producers from all over Norway in Kongens gate øst.

Martnan is overflowing with delicious handheld foods, exciting flavours from all over the world and of course; locally sourced food and local food producers. Local produce has received a lot of attention in Trøndelag in 2022. This is because Trondheim and the Trøndelag Region has been titled the European Region of Gastronomy for the year.

To honour the talented producers and farmers from all over the country, Martnan is this year introducing the “Local Food Street”/Lokalmatgata in Kongens gate øst!

Unsure of what local food really means? Matmerk has defined local food as:

“Food and drink producers with a local identity/specific origin or specific qualities tied to method of production, tradition or product history”

In one part of the street you can find producers from the European Food Region Trondheim and Trøndelag. In the other part you can find food and drinks with a local identity from other parts of Norway. There will be cured meats, mouthwatering handheld foods, award-winning cheeses, chocolate, sveler and much more!

Pro tip: Make sure you’re hungry upon arrival 😉
